Common RFID Product Process – Xinyetong

How to choose the right and appropriate processes when customizing RFID products? What are the characteristics of different printing processes? What are the surface treatment processes and common coding processes? These questions often make us confused, especially for novices in the RFID industry. Here, you will find the answers.

Printing

1 Silkscreen Printing

Silkscreen printing is the most economic solution for mass printing. It has a good color reproduction. Moreover, the picture can be valid for decades. But the color picture will have a little array-shaped and a strong sense of graininess.

Screen printing is often used in RFID cards, RFID tags, and RFID wristbands. For instance, screen printing background color, logo, UV, signature strip, etc.

2 Offset Printing

Offset printing has the best effect, fine graphics, and high resolution. It is currently the mainstream printing method, suitable for printing cards and labels. The disadvantage is that the cost of a small amount of production is extremely high.

Offset printing is divided into four-color printing and spot-color printing. The four-color printing color block has higher brightness and lower saturation. On the contrary, spot color printing has lower color brightness and higher saturation.

3 Digital Printing

Digital printing does not need a printing plate, which can be directly connected to the computer to print. It features high flexibility and has a good effect. It is the best choice for a small amount of printing because the cost is very low.

But the color is valid for a short time. And the color will disappear in direct sunlight or long-term exposure to the air. Digital printing is available in RFID cards and RFID tags.

Surface Treatment

1 Glossy

Glossy simply means that the card surface is relatively bright, with strong reflectivity. It can achieve a mirror effect, and the surface is very smooth. Glossy cards are our more common cards. General membership cards and bank cards in supermarkets are all glossy cards.

2 Matte

The surface treatment of the matte card is just the opposite of the surface treatment of the glossy card. The surface reflectance of the matte card is very weak, even in places with strong light. What’s more, matte cards are more expensive than glossy cards.

3 Frosted

The surface of the frosted card is treated into a frosted surface. The surface of the scrub card is also non-reflective. Frosted cards have one more advantage than the smooth card and the matte card. That is, the surface of the frosted card is not easy to be worn or scratched, and the texture is very good.

Coding Process

Laser Engraving

The cost of laser code is higher than other coding methods. But it has the advantage of durable and never fades. Laser engraving code applies to all RFID products.

Spray Code

Spray code is more convenient, without any coding restrictions. It is the most convenient way to code and the cost is low, very suitable for RFID cards and labels.

Flat Code

Flat codes are available in gold, silver, and black. The gold and silver flat code looks more beautiful and high-end. When making a bar code card, the black flat code is a good choice.

Convex Code

Convex code is the most common type of coding in PVC cards. It can also be seen on many silicone wristbands. Numbers or capital letters are available.
